The 2007 Grabby Nominations
The 2007 Erotic Video Awards AKA The Grabby's will be held on May 26th at Chicago's Parkwest Theater. The show will be hosted by Chi Chi LaRue, Johnny Hazzard, Mathew Rush, Kent North, and Chicago's own Honey West. I will be in Chi-Town that weekend and probably will be in attendance to take some photos for StarrFucker. I am not sure yet though- I went a couple years ago and was bored; took a cab back to the Hotel at intermission and joined the IML crowd in the hotel lobby. This year though I think I will become more interested and eager to photograph since it's for the blog and all. Either way- the nominations have been announced.

Gay Porn Reviews
I have been slow lately with my porn reviews; which will change very soon since I have hired two new reviewers. We love to review porn just as much as we love to watch porn. (well, almost) Gay Porn Reviews can be helpful when deciding your next DVD purchases/rental but, as you may already noticed (like I did) that many porn reviewers give outstanding (two cocks up) reviews to every single porn they review leaving me to wonder the true authenticity of the review. The reason for this is simple- the better a review is on a company the more likely that reviewer will stay on said companies screener list. It's a win-win for the reviewers and for the porn companies... The reviewer gets free porn and content and in return; the companies receive 5 star reviews to pull promotional quotes from. This of course leaves the consumer with piles of highly rated and over-hyped porn to chose from. Not all porn is good- but, not all bad porn is bad either... I promise that any of my highly-rated porn reviews will actually be worth the download or purchase. I am surround by piles of porn everyday and spewing out great reviews for the sake of content and pleasing porn marketing departments is not what I want to do. My request for reviewers everywhere is that when they are sent a porn that is awful, that they don't just skip the review or give it average scores- write about it; tell me just what makes it so horrible- Come on; it will be fun. I like to make fun of things- We all do. Besides honesty is the best policy.
GayPornReviews.net is a good place for Gay Porn Reviews mostly because, of their extensive library of DVD and website reviews. The reviews are all about scores and high marks rather they are more-or-less just summaries and information. It is definitely a useful site to check out to see what the latest gay sex blockbuster is really all about.

Porn Star Andy Dill Died
Gay porn star Andy Dill past away yesterday after a short bout of menengitis. My co-worker first told me about Andy when he was taken to the hospital. You can read more about the tragic event on Lavender Lounge. Andy was currently the director and Vice President of Bear Films. I knew this before because, he had contacted me a couple of times to pose for them (I never did). He also has done work for Raging Stallion, Titan, All Worlds, Catalina, ButtMachineBoys, and Factory Videos among others.

Rants: This may not be fair but, I am a Mac user and well, Perfect Guyz unfortunately doesn't support my kind. I was able to view all the great pics but, I had to go to a friend's house with a PC to watch the videos. The videos are pretty good in quality, better than most. But, for some reason my FF was not working so, I had to watch the 3-4 minute lead-ups to the good stuff.
Raves: You will not find the typical amateur hotel shots on Perfect Guyz. What really stands out is all their "on-location" shoots. It really makes a difference and it is good to see webmasters put some thought and energy into their product.

I Wanna Know
Okay, I hold my tongue a lot because, this is the industry I work in but, sometimes I am just dumb-founded. I love my porn colleagues and all but, FUCK c'mon... The acting! Why? Why? Why? I work on the other side of the camera so, sometimes I do have different opinions from John Q JackOff. So, maybe you can help me- what is the appeal of watching porn stars struggle to pass as actors. There is only so, much cheese I can stand. Especially if it is trying to actually be serious. Shit, I wish I could remember the title of the porn but, one day a model on the set put in what I think was a Military themed Falcon movie (but, not sure) and I spent the next 1/2 hour rolling laughing at the dialouge and lisps. Well, now that I offended all those poor porn stars someone just tell me WHY? I personally think part of why Amateur and Internet porn is very popular is because, it is more direct, realistic, and expedient when it comes to getting to the point.

Now, this is not a post about Velvet Mafia- that is just one example that was available to show you guys. There is much, much worse. But, at the same time studios like Falcon and Channel 1 have such great production work and talent behind them that I think that it is just shame with all of their advances that everyone is still using old-school cheesy dialogue, plots, and story lines? If making something bigger and better is the goal then I think the writing and acting needs to be as good or better than the production and design. I know- It's only porn.

Arabesque is nothing short of a Magic Carpet ride, including actual clips from Rudolph Valentino's 1921 The Sheik with clever cuts and transitions into the Arabesque's own ornate sets.
The star of the film, and a presence in half of its one dozen sexual episodes is Hussein, a brawny Turk of extremely hairy proportions. Then, another high point: Francois Sagat is taken to pasture by Hussein. This French dish can take just about anything doled out to him. Just as this duo finishes, son of the Sheik Delaine, takes the hot cock of Ivan Andros. Mr. Andros has obviously come full circle from muscle bottom to hard driving top.

Raging Stallion's second disc includes an entertaining 30 minute visit from Naked Sword's Tim and Roma to the film set. This is a nice breath of fresh air, and an interesting insight into the filmmakers, particularly Chris Ward, who typically steps out of the way in the Behind the Scenes coverage. Another behind the scenes segment chronicles the filming of one of the film's scenes. Taurus's interview for Francois Sagat in French is interesting, as is the 25 minute Cable TV segment with Remy Delaine.
This carpet (film) has taken so many GayVN award nominations I doubt the magic carpet could take off the ground.

Bryan Ockert is the former photographer for the mega-site Sean Cody who now runs his own site called Chaos Men. Chaos features great original photo layouts and equally as good exclusive videos.
His photographs are indeed good and are better in quality than most of his competition- Still, I would like to see more porn and less trying to be a gay photographer... but, that is just me.
The videos are hot and the guys he finds are very nice. I especially like that fact that they are all different and diverse. I get bored with other sites that have one type of guy and Choas is bound to have something for everyone!
Rants: As I browsed through the site looking for guys I personally thought were hot I was disappointed to see some of the ones I chose didn't even pose nude- instead I am left with just coffee table book type erotic photos of them... Bryan Ockert is a photographer and shoots the whole gay erotic coffee table book crap and as good as the images are I think people still want to see the goods. I would still include those layouts but, I would separate them into another section that way there is no let downs.
Raves: The best thing about Choas Men to me is the website it's self. I love the colors, design, and features. This is a very well done site and well worth any sign up fee.
Favorite Model: Rico (pictured below) is one hot fucker. Bryan Ockert shot this stud while on a trip to Costa Rico. It was a tough pick for favorite model because, there are a lot of hotties on ChaosMen.com.

Video Review: Little Big League

Electro Video presents an inspiring tale of a down and out coach who pulls himself and his misfit baseball team up by their own jockstraps into success. Doug Jefferies' cute script makes the viewer hope that a sequel featuring all of our bad-boy friends is in the works. Theo Blake awakens late, showing up scruffy and out of sorts to work. His disappointed team players inform him that he missed their own practice yet again.
Worse, he visits the office where rival coach Marcus Allen informs him that it is only a short matter of time before he's canned. Allen clearly relishes seeing his rival knocked off. A stung Blake leaves to go home and reassess his life as Allen turns to one of his ballplayers for a piece of ass.
This first action scene is a hot pairing of two classic Channel One all-American boys, both of whom look good enough to eat in one swallow. (Both on the box cover) Angel is adorable in his baseball uniform, as he kneels before his coach sucking him. Afterwards he nails the kid's smooth ass doggie style, who never stops moaning.
Director Jeffries' film skills shine here. Numerous close-ups of the bottom's facial expressions, and plenty of close-up shots of the anal action . Allens big hands grip around Angels small, smooth hips as he thrusts. When Angel feels his coach's hot load hitting his skin, he easily starts spurting out his own cream.
Next, Angel asks the coach if he can be the team's pitcher. Allen sneeringly insults him, causing the bottom to go and seek revenge. Angel finds Matthew Matters and Sergio Anthony in the men's room. Taking the role of the movie's Judas, he informs them to play up their next game, because Coach Blake's job is on the line.
The players take the information to heart, although right now Matters seems to have nothing on his mind other then getting his stiff cock inside his Latino friend. Anthony is one hot chulito. Matthew Matters reminds us of the messy haired, puckish California boys that graced the screens of Larry Bronco or William Higgins movies of the 1980s. The movie's final scene shows Coach Blake who is celebrating his victory with baseball player Owen Hawk. Blake gives his team member a fine rim job. Soon the coach opens his own ass up to Hawk. Video Review: Encounters

Encounters: The Heat of the Moment a new DVD series from Lucas Entertainment, Although the project is overseen by Michael Lucas, he does not direct or appear in the film. Instead the job is done impressively by Tony DiMarco, and the final episode very impressively by famous entertainer RuPaul.
This film needs no hype, because it succeeds so well. The film shows individual, unrelated stories of guys hooking up for sex. The stories are imaginative and very well acted by the models. Unlike the many movies with quick setups and awkwardly spoken dialogue, everybody involved in this production goes all out to turn in the best, which makes everything actually believable.
The movie contains more atmospheric, picturesque shots of New York City than most Woody Allen movies. And everything from beginning to end is a first class product.
It begins with the adorable tan skinned Omer soliciting a hook-up on his laptop. The director carefully follows him from the point of closing his laptop, getting sheets for the couch, and welcoming his new friend into his apartment. An extremely well followed practice followed everywhere today, so the film's viewers will instantly be familiar with it. Touches like this give the sexual episodes in Encounters believability, heightening the heat even more.
His trick is Erik Grant, a strong-looking top who clearly loves to screw. They first kiss passionately, followed by removing their clothes and sucking each other's dicks. Needless to say, they make full use of that couch. Omer really shows off his magnificent ass here. He has a limber, petite body that can take everything Grant thrusts at him.
The second scene of the film is outstanding. Titled Dorm Room Education, shots of NYU lead to a shy Blu Kennedy lying awake in his bed as roommate Danny Bitho returns from a unfulfilled date with a girl, who left him with "blue balls." Not since William Higgins or Mark Reynolds covered college student's dorm room tensions back in the 1980's has the subject been addressed so provocatively.
Bitho catches Kennedy (who is pretending to be asleep) watching him jack-off. Bitho turns in a great performance as the sexually casual straight guy who has no problem taking charge over the situation. He becomes the kindest, firmest teacher to his boyish-looking roomie, who looks simultaneously overwhelmed and aroused.
From his bed a few feet away, he talks to the wide eyed Kennedy, waving his erection around, tempting him more and more. Kennedy says he's never been with a guy, and he jumps at the moment Bitho calls him over. He sucks his beautiful big dick as the photos of naked women, sports figures and a Scarface poster peer down from the wall.
Pale skinned, red headed and heavily hung, Kennedy is the perfect match to Bitho, who pounds the daylights out of him on the blue sheets of his bed. Kennedy's popularity has deservedly grown this past year, in part because you can count the number of red headed models on one hand, but also because he acts well and can completely fit into his roles. This episode is riveting from beginning to end.
Next, paper hangers Parker Williams and Kent Larson take a break from work to release some sexual tension. This scene is the film's weakest because it is the least imaginative and the guys also only just last week had far more explosive encounters over in Fire Island 7...Predictably, Larson is the bottom and Williams is the top. Both guys turn in enthusiastic performances and their fans, the ones who appreciate built, manly sex animals will enjoy it.
The movie's most impressive segment is the last. It is notably directed by RuPaul of course. Wilson Vasquez sits down and starts speaking a stream of consciousness to his psychotherapist, Bruce Beckham. Observing his patient on the couch, speaking about his feelings, Beckham quietly drifts into imagining what the Puerto Rican would look like naked. Beckham remains fixated over him, and we see shots of their lips, which silently scream for a passionate embrace. There are long, effective moments of tense interaction, without any sound or music.
Beckham imagines what it would be like on his knees, sucking his patient's uncut cock. Then, he's eating Vasquez's ass. Finally, Vasquez plows him from behind over the couch. RuPaul eases into the fantasy slowly, cutting from Vasquez talking and talking. Vasquez in particular speaks just as if he really were unloading all his problems on a therapist; very impressive. Beckham is a very hot muscle-bottom to watch get fucked, and the camera captures his body's curved joy with Vasquez working him over top to bottom. As with earlier episodes, this succeeds so well because it is completely believable.
Styled with a moody and atmospheric musical accompaniment, Encounters: The Heat of the Moment is a remarkable lens into the sexual attractions and activities of gay men today.Extras / Director's Cut - The DVD includes a six minute behind the scenes of RuPaul directing of the Beckham/Vasquez scene, as well as a dropped sequence of them passionately sixty-nining.
