The GAYVN Awards Fucked Up

So, yeah the GAYVN Award Nominees were announced this week and well, frankly.... Who cares. The largest (American) awards show representing the gay adult industry has shown some lack of credibility.

As Queer Me Now Blog pointed out; Every major porn studio and performer was nominated over and over again. The Best Director nominee list alone seems to cover everyone who even directed a half way decent video last year. But what has really gotten the blogosphere talking is the addition of website categories; Something that has been long overdue. Oh, but with progress comes ignorance- The Best Site of the Year nominees didn't even include the actual two biggest websites (Sean Cody and Randy Blue) and it's pretty transparent on what basis the nominated sites were actually chosen on. To make the bitch-slap to the online industry complete was nominees for Best Web Performer. Apparently the requirement for this award is that one must first be Porn Star for the (DVD) Studios and then just happen to also be on the web. I suppose, if Men Magazine's Man of the Year, Reese Rideout ships himself over to Hot House or Falcon, only then will he get attention for his work for on the web.

I agree that they are totally biased... but... you're not even slightly? :-D
I mean... just because RB and SC are the largest doesn't have to mean they should even be in the top.
For me, I wouldn't put some of Falcon/Channel 1's movies at the top either, yet they keep getting put there.
