Chi Chi @ The David Awards
West Hollywood, CA - Channel 1 Releasing is proud to announce that Chi Chi LaRue has been named Best Non-European Director at the 2006 David Awards in Berlin. The David Awards are the European Equivalent of the GAYVN awards, sponsored by GAYeLINE magazine which is published in three languages (French, German and English) and distributed widely throughout Europe. The awards were held at the gay disco Haus B in Berlin on Thursday Oct. 19.
"I know this sounds cliche but it was a complete and utter shock," LaRue said. "I thought another company would sweep all of the American awards, but winning felt great. The show organizers were very nice and treated everyone great. The actually award weighed 30 pounds and it was the most beautiful gay porn award I have ever seen. At one point it fell on my foot and I realized how heavy it was!"
According to LaRue, getting the trophy home following the award's ceremony and after party took a group effort as it was passed around from Rascal Exclusive Jan Fischer, to porn star Collin O’Neal, Steven Walker and Rob Novinger from Channel 1 Releasing, Stuart from Bel Ami and the one and only Gloria Viagra.
LaRue added, "I would like to give congratulations to Titan Media and Francois Sagat for taking home awards. It was a really fun night."
